Morné Visser
Morne Visser has been a freelance actor for over 25 years. He travels extensively for work but keeps Cape Town, South Africa, as his base.
He is known to take on challenging and controversial characters.
In 2015, he won the Best Actor Award at the Silwerskerm Film Festival for the critically acclaimed film, Dis ek, Anna. During a Q&A at the Durban International Festival, where Dis ek, Anna debuted, he was asked to explain why he would play a character that could potentially harm his career. He was quoted as saying: "It was very hard to do this film because I'm also a father. But, I'm also an actor. I think if you're not willing to do this part in South Africa, then why the f**k act? If you are not willing to tell stories that matter, then I don't want to be an actor."
In 2017, he plays the part of Hansie Coetzee, in twice-Academy Award nominated director, Roland Joffe's, The Forgiven, opposite Forest Whitaker. He plays the title role in, Liewe Kersfeesvader, and is Nominated as Best Actor at the Silwerskermfees 2017. He then takes a leading role in, The Harvesters, which is chosen as Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival 2018 where it receives nominations for the Un Certain Regard Award as well as a nomination for the Golden Camera.
Morne Visser has also starred in all three Kissing Booth films for Netflix, playing Mr. Flynn opposite Molly Ringwald's Mrs. Flynn.
